Deleting Your Account

If you want to delete your Helpful Folks account, you can do so at any time. Here's how it works and what you should consider.

Before Deleting

Before you delete your account, consider the following:

What Gets Deleted?

• Your profile and all personal data
• Your jobs and applications
• Your chat history
• Your reviews (both given and received)
• Your credit balance
• Your verification documents

What About Active Bookings?

If you have active bookings, please complete or cancel them first. An account with active bookings cannot be deleted immediately.

What About a Premium Membership?

Cancel your premium membership before deleting your account. Unused remaining time is not refunded.

How to Delete Your Account

1. Log into your account.
2. Go to account settings.
3. Scroll down to the "Account" section.
4. Click "Delete Account".
5. Confirm deletion by entering your password.
6. Click "Delete Permanently".

What Happens After Deletion?

• Your account is immediately deactivated.
• Your data is fully deleted within 30 days according to our privacy policy.
• You can no longer log in with the same credentials.
• Deletion cannot be undone.

Alternative: Pause Your Account

If you're not sure whether you want to leave Helpful Folks permanently, you can alternatively:

• Set your profile to invisible so it no longer appears in search results.
• Stop creating new jobs and wait.
• Keep your account without actively using it.

This way, your data, reviews, and verification are preserved in case you want to come back.
